1) The AID will help a lot, allowing more 3-4 deg more timing advance, and bringing in retard more gradually with boost. The Dave's AID was based on my work with the MSD-BTM unit, detailed in Jeff C's site. The BTM was part of my program to minimize lag and maximized low end grunt.
2) consider some means of keeping cooling fan on in traffic/low speeds. It will reduce heat soak of the FMIC, whick turns the IC into a preheater while at a light. Autospeed.com has a neat controller for about $80.
3) The MSD-6A ign and coil will give multi sparks below 3K, and works. summitracing.com . Go with magnacore cables, and oem plug gaps.
4) conversion to a T25 turbo, as used in later years AFAIK, would also bring boost in quicker, with some loss of max power potential.
