There are lots of options and lots of opportunity to spend $$$
1 - stock cam swaps are discussed extensively on this board, use the search
2 - stock cam regrinds have been used successfully by many for a bump in power starting as low as 3800 rpms and extending past the 6200 rpm redline. I used a pair of Group6 reground cams (by crower) for many years, with stock lifters and no problems. Sources are S.D., Crower, ScanWest, SPG9, etc.
3 - billet/custom cams are the best because you have more control over lift and profile, plus you keep the stock base circle size. For my c900 T5 race motor, I located a pair of unground Saab cam blanks in Sweden ($400), had them shipped to CA and ground by a local expert ($375). There are other suppliers too - catcams in belgium http://www.catcams.be has a US supplier in maryland (see link below). They do regrinds and billet steel camshafts - never seen the product but it look promising. There is one in the UK also but I can't find the link right now.
