As for how I know that the DI is what made the car handle the boost as it did, I dont know. Im only speculating that that had something to do with it. The reason that im speculating this is because I was told that every part on his car was made by saab or sub contracted by saab to go on the cars as they came out of the factory. I have not seen or heard of any other car that can boost way over stock limits, in over 100 degree weather, without a fmic, without water injection, or without any other aftermarket device that cools the intake gas enough to run the boost levals that I saw. The only different thing was the DI. The DI system controls knock differently and better than the APC, so that is what led me to say that i thought that the DI wsa making his car so fast.
Also for that matter why not shell out a few hundred to get more boost on a DI system If your going to spend 4-500 or whatever on a fmic setup that gets similar results? Then at least you have something different than the masses and can put on a fmic if the Di isnt enough.
