First thing I would do on your car is add a steering rack brace & front poly control arm bushings, much as from the Abbott viggen rescue kit. Without those, you must be at the threshold of hellacious torque steer, if your aren't already over it, with a 9-3 convertible. Then, I'd go with a Maptun or Stromquist ECU, larger downpipe & cat, I'd drop the MBC for regular use with an upgraded ECU, but it should help spool up and override the torque limit in the lower gears, for dragging. If you really want to beat that 'stang, get a sport clutch & Limited Slip Differential ($$$). Jak's advice is good, especially on the driving tips & launch. Just remember, Mustangs are rear drive, and even the 2005 'stang will have a solid rear axle, because that's the business for drag racing. But, it will be fun to have a go, and you can definitely give him a better run for his money than he expects!
