wrapped my JT downpipe on my 9K

found a roll of DEI header wrap in a clearout bin at the local hotrod shop. So I decided to wrap the downpipe. Not expecting any performance benefit, but as many 9K owners know a ripping hot downpipe also heats up the oil, heat sheild or not (there is not shield on hte front of the sump:). as well with the JT the clearance is that much less).
So my observations after a city drive in 90F heat. PErformance gain: non that I can tell. Oil temp according to the gauge is definately a little lower on average (doesn't go over 180F, when this week it was routine in hitting 192F until the oil thermo opens).
So for $19.95 CAD, not bad I guess, but what can you expect....? ;-)
anyway, I almost had a cornerary after 10 mintes of driving after tape smoked like crazy (some of the 'dust' perhaps off of the tape burning off). Smoke was gone after 20 minutes, all is well;-)
