The 2000+ 9-3s (and 1999 Viggen) plus production is T7, (and all 9-5s) and that does allow for ECU updates via the diagnostic ports.
First that I have heard about the T5 and I have been under the impression that this cannot be done. But with the T5, one can use a MBC, MBC+A and get lots more boost that way.
