Yeah, Texas Cadiliacs. :)
The thing is that there are a few Saabs down here on the roads, lots of convertibles, just not in the junk yards. I know the area I live-in has a lot of transient-type petro-chem people who "put their time in" and go then back to their mother ships. Or maybe there's one big yard that gets all of the Saabs and I haven't found it yet? Maybe I need to move back to PA.
I thought the current vogue is to use Eclipse or Starion units? It wouldn't be a problem to go take a look, so if you need one let me know--I'm not promising anything, just that I'll take a look...although there are a whole bunch of PowerStrokes running around.
Well heck, as far as that goes, IF I can get one or ten, I wonder if anyone would be interested in trading a few for: turbo inlet pipe (from airbox to turbo inlet), delivery pipe (from intercooler to throttle body), low miles AC compressor, unbent hood, and unbent front fenders? Or any combination of the above for a T-7 9-3 SE.
You are right about people not knowing what it is though...I ran across a guy in a newer style, lowered Integra with some speed-shop stickers the other day. He literally had about a 6" exhaust tip coming out the back...it was actually quicker than I thought it would be. At the next light the guy pulled back-up alongside me, gave me thumbs-up, rolled down his window, and said "That thing supercharged? I could hear some whining, like something was spooling up". I smiled and said, "Nope, turbo", and he smiled and nodded his head yes.
So I got some props after he recognized. :)
The best are the newer, stock, BMW guys though...mainly because they've paid so much money and are so sure they're driving the fastest cars on the road. One night coming back from the Raceway Park, with the shoe polish still on the windows, there was a guy in a newer 5 series who got off the same highway exit as me, he got angry on the highway I think, but got so mad after the first stop light that he blew through the second red light in a 4-way, 4 lane each-way intersection at full throttle just to pass me in his probably 50-some thousand dollar car. It looked like something straight out of COPS when a car gets stolen and wasn't so funny; people are crazy...anyway.
So how is that SPG running with the new turbo and Jak special message? Have any dyno numbers yet? I want another ride now that the kinks are worked-out.
