Most if the intake is at moderate temperatures and the max temps occur after shut down when there is no intake air flow to carry heat away. Things close to radiation heat transfer from the exhaust and turbo are another matter. The high tech high temp materials are overkill for much of the system. A better and by far less costly alternative is the 1/4" thick aluminum faced bubble pack type insulation found in hardware stores where you can purchase by the foot. Secure with spring type paper clamps from the office supply store. You can thus remove for serice work. On my 95SET I insulated the air box and down towards the turbo, and from IC outlet to and including the TB to some extent. The turbo discharge to the IC inlet is hot gas and there does not seem to be any merit to insulating that. For parts near extreme radiative heat, the bubble pack will shivel and harden, peraps worse. Use your judgment and some care. The high temp products can be used there, or heat shields. The bubble pack stands up to the hot under hood temperatures and is well suited for this service.
