I am still getting used to this change. Have SMBC and JR filter installed. Have large IC yet to install. Stock otherwise.

I now find that, depending on pavement condition and tire temps, I can get tire squealing at any time in second gear with the throttle petal. This is new. So with the minimun boost that has been SMBC controlled, that same amount of boost now exceeds tire traction and the traction control is not defeated in these situations. So, more torque from same boost pressure.

So thats an interesting observation of the increased torque from this one change. I may have to turn down the SMBC a little bit. This is an unexpected thing as one expects back pressure reduction to be at higher flow rates that with this tire squeal at lower speeds.

But my main question is: Does the ECU self adapt to this change, or should I remove power to the ECU and do some adaption runs.

The system sounds good when-on-the-throttle. Quite loud at time of startup! The cold engine running will have some higher rates of fueling compared to a hot engine idle. And the rubber mounts are cold and perhaps by the time things get hot the three point rubber hangers near the cat are softer. And maybe the hot exhaust system has a different characteristic by itself. I will investigate those rubber hangers further. The character of the system seems to have mellowed out over the last week. Have not been putting on many miles. The flex joint bellows may also be changing as it anneals and strain releaves to accomdate its new posture. Some floor vibes are reduced. Again I suspect those two three point rubber mounts.

So the next big challenge is what to do with the stock Aero exhaust system. It has lots of life in it and I am inclined to keep it for use someday in the wife's Aero wagon if needed. The big issue is where to store the beast. The resonator thru to the exhaust tip is one welded monster - heavy too. I will have to try to get it into the garage attic. Folks say that it is stainless steel, with aluminized steel outer skins on the mufflers. Everything on the system is strongly magnetic, except for the downpipe. The pipe between the mufflers is somewhat rusty. I don't know if this is a rust resistant stainless or carbon steel at this point. I will oil it down a bit before storage.
