Enhancing braking on 9000 Aero.....thoughts please.....

I have a 1993 Aero and wanted to improve the braking on it. I was thinking of getting slotted/crossed drilled rotors for it. The slotted/crossed drilled rotors that I was thinking about are 11 inches in diameter... just like the vented factory ones. I don't think braking would be improved by that much. Rather, in my mind, the slotted/crossed drilled rotor would only bite into the pad better. This would only slightly improve the braking. If I wanted some real results, I would have to go to a 12 inch rotor.... correct? And if I did go to a 12 inch rotor, I am into remounting the calipier..... correct?
Has anybody on this board gone with a rotor whose diameter is bigger then 11 inches? If so, was it worth the grief of making mods? Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
TIA
