for temperature: basically you just need the correct ohm range and temperature range. on the sender page you can sort-of cross reference to the gauge you are getting.
for pressure, I believe you want metric, but you can get standard with an adapter from a parts store. Make sure the gauge range (for example 0-80psi) matched the sender of the same range. that is about it. the sender grounds itself through the fitting for effective readings, so don't use a thread sealant. good idea to get the sender with the warning light fitting ("WK")....this way your OEM warning light will still function. If your wondering where that wire is, well you will see it as you should be putting the new pressure sender where the OEM warning sender is. I'm not up to speed on the new style senders with aux ground fitting, as I use my OEM factory option Vision gauge/sender combo (yes they made them back then!). that came with my 88 9000T.
I love the vdo visuion as it looks classy with the fibre optic through lighting. I ordered a bunch from summit racing. I've had a variety of Autometer gauges over the years. Out of about 12 gauges, 4 have failed, even a newer Cobalt seried oil pressure gauge flew the coup after 1 year! VDOs have been more reliable, although not as fancy.
