My Korean-made Scantech replacements look identical to the OEMs I swapped out. The welds look well-done, and the finish is decent, too.
I don't think boxing them is necessary for a street-driven car. Those pics that are floating around the 'net are of pieces made for rally cars. Unless you're yumping that SPG over some serious bumps down gravel roads, I'd say skip it.
If you decide to go with tubular a-arms, first get a chassis design program and have it run through multiple iterations to find a better camber curve. Replacing stuff with *better* stuff is the silver lining in breakdowns... :-)
