on the rear wheel drive I dont have much to say but one probably needs to cut the whole floor out back there & fabricate a frame mabey from 2 inch square tubing to suport it & than weld in sheet metal to cover it up at least thats how I plan to do it
most modern IRS setups look fairly modular to me usualy un complicated mounting
on the tranies all that is diferent in the 89 & later tranies is the size of the pinion bearings & I think in 88 they have an extra suport bearing on the primary drive neither of which solve the problem I had
Im looking for a 4 speed now I have enough parts here to build like 3 5 speeds & may just re doo my last one which sounded like I just wasted the countershaft bearings in in the meantime while I sourse a good 4 speed to rebuild using the shotpeened & cryotreated gears
I never launch my car by just dumping the clutch &I do get easy 2nd gear wheelspinn & a lil in 3rd
but I am definatly of the school of even if you are making big HP these tranies usualy hold up pretty well if driven rite
take care
JAK
