Performance mods and avoiding divorce (long)

I feel like I've been living life in fast forward, so according to my lovely wife, the acquisition of the 93 900T was one giant step towards my midlife chrisis, and that if I got too over the edge, I would be hearing from her lawyer... Her uncle is a member of the local Bar Association and I'm not on his good side at the moment, so I really have to be careful...
The patient is a 93 900 Turbo CE, that I would like to get a little more umph out of... Granted, I don't have 20K laying around the house so it's going to be catch as catch can, when it comes to little things, like K&N filter, some bigger Fuel Injectors, and most definately a new exhaust. Things I'd like to do also include finding a new ic and sticking that up behind the front air dam, and route the air from the louvers across the surface area down there, over the IC...
Little things like that... maybe spending $300-500 bucks a crack, so she doesn't get overly suspicous.
Now, some of you may be chuckling about now and saying to yourselves that I should just lay down the law and do what I want to do... Well, on paper the idea looks good... but on paper, communism looked good and we all know how well that turned out... Besides, the last time I said that, she got oddly quiet and said, "Well do what ever you want, dear... You just take your nap now..."
I woke up when I felt the pillow on top of my face, so needless to say, I spent the rest of the month sleeping with one eye open.
So, I'm just asking for a little assistance on how to make it a little more fun to drive, and occasionally embarass the little pukes who have the stock honda's with the $900 glass packs...
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
