Viggen racheting noise

Well, I just got back from a 180 mile trip to my nearest Saab dealer in Birmingam AL, to look at a racheting noise in the left front of my 2001 Viggen(7k). Happens in 2nd and 3rd at about 2000 rpm. Anyway, they drove it a few times and said "everything sounds normal". Well, I have owned a few cars in my short life, my previous being a 92 9000T and none of them made this racheting noise in the low gears at low RPM(it is not lugging either). Needless to say I am a little frustrated that the car I have desperatly wanted is making this iritating noise. I have read some posts that mention the throwout bearing but I dont know if this is it. The car is a CPO with another 3 years and 93000 miles to go. Not sure what my alternatives are. Should I contact Saab directly? Any ideas would be appreciated. Other than the racketing sound the car runs and drives like a dream.
