How many of you on the board do a yearly spring cleaning on your Saab(s)? Just thought I'd give you a tip list to go through for the interior since all those Mickey D's fries been dried up between the seats for the past year and you might find some loose change to vacuum under the seats for a few minutes. Required tools: detailing brush, lint free rag, amorall or equivalent, leather cleaner and conditioner, a small bucket of water and mild soap (maybe liquid ivory)
1. take out all the vents and clean the ducts (amorall the vents too)
2. Take out speaker grills and clean vents
3. take out seats, front and rear (give a good scrubbing if necessary) then use leather cleaner and conditioner
4. Since the seats are out, now is a good time to really vacuum those hard to reach areas and clean the floor console( Not to sound crazy but I completely strip down to bare metal on the inside. I take my carpet to the laundry for a machine wash. Only cost me $3.00 why pay $50 for a shampoo?) You'll be suprised at what you find and wondered how it got there. After all, its only once a year!
5. remove the inserts on the door panels and do some more dusting. Also do some wiping on the panels and knee bolster to remove the build up from all that amorall the previous season then use some conditioner on the panels.
6. Finally, don't forget to clean that steering wheel! Remember, besides the driver's seat the steering gets the most abuse. This is the key to keeping your saab looking prestine. And feeling good on the inside should reflect on the outside. Keep Saabing!
