....is the best year. Maybe it's still that way, but I've become more cynical since the General took charge. With a 9-5, I'd agree with Dean - a 2002 or newer is probably better. And they're already starting to come off-lease. I just had a good friend pick-up a real nice '02 Linear SW w/only 28k miles for $17.5k. Same with a 9000 - a '97 or '98 were the best years in terms of upgradeability, durability and performance. In fact, of the two, the 9000 had the more robust engine in regards to upgradeability: it had better hardware (the bottom end on a 9000 can withstand over 100 more ponies than the 9-5, the turbine is a bit bigger, the intake plumbing is better, etc.) and the engine management system was/is easier to have 'tuned' (read some of the archives about differences between the T5 & T7's).
