10 pounds per horsepower is pretty damn good. And with a decent LSD, it's manageable.
Plenty of FWD cars run similar numbers and are fully streetable.
Conventional wisdom has it that FWD is inferior to RWD. But there are plenty of people out there in highly-competitive racing action who are bucking CW. It's kind of like the Porsche 911 -- its rear-engined layout is suboptimal, but look how well Porsche has managed to get the car to perform in spite of this? It's the same with FWD -- it's really not the best layout for performance, but there are plenty of competitive race cars out there.
My favorite example of how well FWD can do is the Acura Integra Type Rs that run in Solo2 competition. In Stock class, they run against BMW's 330Ci (including the sport package option but excluding the M3 flavors). The ITRs beat the Beemers all the time. Hmmm, why is it that at the nation's highest levels of competition (and D Stock is *very* competitive), the front-driven Integra beats what is arguably the world's finest sports sedan, and, a RWD one at that?
