Aero ECU doesn't work on my non-Aero 9-5

Hi Guys!
I've read several postings about this so I thought I'd try it. I bought a used 2000 Aero ECU and replaced my stock 1999 nonAero ECU with it. The car is a 1999 9-5 and the OEM ECU was changed in '00 to a T7.7A01. The date of manufacture of the non-Aero replacement ECU is 11/10/00. The used Aero ECU I purchased is a T7.7A02 with a date of manufacture of 01/01/01. Now the question is: I installed the unit and reset the ECU by removing and reinstalling fuse #17. The engine started to fire but the ECU seemed to stopped allowing the plugs to fire and would not run. Are there any settings that can make this work?
I spoke to the my local SAAB dealer and of course he told me it will not work. I get the feeling it is possible to make the ECU work, but the dealer says it isn't. My local SAAB (not a dealer) repair shop is willing to hook my car up to his - I believe he said a T5 analyzer - and can window through the ECU settings. He's trying to be very helpful, but is not really sure what to do. Any thoughts on what needs to be set, or is my SAAB dealer totally correct in telling me that there is no way I can make this work?
Thanks!
