I have actualy run a wideband o2 sensor on LH equiped cars with BOVs on (not BPV BOV) & have then on the same car logged the same data running a bypass valve & have seen verry litle changes durring shifting in AF ratios
this is because when shifting you generaly back out of the throttle completeley & the idle part of the throttle switch is acsessed which shuts down the injectors above 1500RPM to keep backfiring down you can dump all the air you want to atmosphere & not have a problem
but with a realy loose spring setting on the BOV light throttle driving while letting up a lil on the pedal some richer than bypassed AFs can occurr the BOV just needs to be closed at idle obviously to keep from pulling air in from between the AMM & throttle plate at idle & causing stalling due to a lean condition at idle
I personaly recirculate my bypass valve because it is open at idle (like the bosch unit & forge) so it has to be recirculated & I do dump it into the stock location before the turbo inlet using 1 inch hose & relocated the pressure side from the throttlebody to the elbow in front of the throttlebody to have the tubing larger in diameter which makes more flow than the 14MM barb at the throttle plate did, this keeps the turbo spooled up better during shifts
this is about the best info I have on bypass VS blow off valve :-)
Id get pics up of my setup but I cant get saabpics to load :-(
happy new year
