Hi Dave,
I think it could work. But you also need the crankshaft sensor signel to make it work. Therefore you have to change the oil pump housing or drill small threads into it to connect the sensor. Maybe you also need another pulley which has an ability to put the aperture disc on. And usually all the wiring.
My idea is to install an DI out of a 9K to a 900. I think there are o lot of advantages:
no expensive ignition wires
no BTM or AID
no ignition coil
no distributor
higher ignition energy, about 40000 volt, normal ignition coils have only 25000 volt
maybe fully programmable ignition timing and boost control map!!!!!!!
Disadvantages are:
a little more difficult to install
you cannot tweak it yourself, but perhaps Maptun or another company can
