I was just about to post on this again. I have been looking for 3 years for the higher gears refered to as "8's" as the 3rd digit in the trans number refers to the primary drive gear as GM35801. The 8's have the larger gear with 33 teeth and the smaller 24 for a ratio of .72 overdrive. As far as I know they were never put on any US spec saabs. Only 89-93 non turbo 16v had them. I have been told to hunt through UK suppliers or wrecking yards. I have NEVER seeen one in any US wrecking yard. One thought that I am sure someone knows is if you took an automatic large gear with 40 teeth and put a smaller gear with 30 you would get a ratio of.75 but I am not sure if the automatic gears work on a manual?? Plus let me know if anyone has the 33/24 gears.
