Andy,
I'll answer all of those questions when I get done with the engine transplant. The Aero's are very responsive with T-7, but nothing like my 9000. It's a great everyday car for my kind of business travels, but way too heavy for me to tune it. I don't want to cheapen the car with modifications that would lighten it either.
For now, I bought a brand-spanking-new short block and turbo from Saab that I am gonna slam in there. (I bought the car with some free sludge at no extra charge.) The car has all of it's meticulous service records, and the weird thing is that they were all done correctly. The problem is the PCV system. The last PCV system upgrade draws too much air out of the block and subsequently draws the oil out with it. It pulls in moisture through the dipstick cap gasket and mixes into sludge. If you have a 9-5 Aero, remove the last PCV upgrade for longer engine life. (It's the one with the vacuum tap under the dipstick). It's too much on Aero's.
