car is 1995 CSE manual w/80k miles. Cat was not installed, just dp.
First, this job is tough...i'm a DIY, but due to rusted parts/bolts,etc. The install took 7 hours. Plus, i still need to cut another 1" off the dp to have the correct alignment and relieve stress on the dp and mid-pipe.
Results: There is a noise increase, but not much. Stronger performance sound, but only when idleing or under boost.
Quicker spool-up. Feeling like engine WANTS to go full boost..very eager feeling. Amost like its begging/tempting you to press down on pedal.
FASTER? yes, only other mod is open-air K&N filter. Car seems to pull harder and gains ground quickly.
INSTALL: tough...i used jackstand, but bolts are difficult to reach and o2 sensor wires had to be loosened to allow removal without harm. Bolts were rusted underneath car so this added time. Majority of time is fitting, measuring and cutting dp to fit. This required 3 attempts and i still need more cut. (you never want to cut too much)
OVERALL: i'm satified with the improved performance and sound. I should have paid someone to install, but wanted it done right. Pipe snakes around and through engine perfect...really nice welding job also.
