Hope all's well.
Typically, the more air and fuel that is being introduced into the combustion chambers, the more resistance it creates between the engine's spark plug gap. This will either call for a reduction in spark plug gap or a higher output ignition pulse. For the modified 88 9K, we might recommend an NGK spark plug BCP-7EV or BCP-6ES gapped to .024". Use of a higher output coil, lower resistance ignition wire, etc. will usually allow us to broaden this gap up to .026-.028" which would provide better spark progression but this is all dependent on specific engine modifications regarding fuel delivery, charge pressures, etc.
