I bought a complete 3" turbo back without cat about 2 years ago from Engstrom. It cost abot $500 for the whole set-up (98 9000). Not bad. Today, the average cost of only the downpipe and cat are $800 for the 9-5. This seems a bit high since a nice race cat be bought for $100 or so. I know we have to add a few hours of labor, parts and profit too. I remember some old posts that someone would buy jc whitney exhausts pieces and formed their own downpipe. Anyone have some jigs/dimensions that they are willing to share? I'm not trying to take away business from site sponsors but this is a BB so the questions and intentions hopefully do not offend anyone. I need to learn to be frugle as well. Thanks.
