The 1999 9-3 was nearly identical to the 1994-1998 NG900 in most important respects, having the same T5 engine management system, same intake system with a cable controlled throttle body, etc.
The 2000-2002 9-3 & Viggen used the T7 engine management system and a different air intake system, including a electronically controlled throttle body.
I would recommend that you see the following link to a thread about NG900 modifications and search for NG900 modifications as a start.
Also, I strongly sugguest you improve the suspension to handle the additional power. The addition of a larger (22mm) rear sway bar and a steering rack brace make a lot of difference in the feel of the car. Site sponsors like Taliaferro Saab (http://www.geniunesaab.com) and MP Performance (http://www.mpperformance.com) have these. Other site sponsors like Swedish Dynamics, JAK Stoll Performance, and Taliaferro Saab can help with an upgraded ECU when you are ready.
