or not does not determine whether or not I do my own experimenting in my personal quest for maximum power with effeciency. I like to find my own way, so to speak. Oil in MY intake tract is a thing of the past long ago so you can only SPEAK FOR YOURSELF. Do you have empirical data to back up your claim (reducing the octane from 98 to 92 (!))or is it just internet hearsay? Yeah, sure, dumping oil into the intake tract will decrease performance but that's due to a number of factors, not only the "octane reduction". In a well tuned and good conditioned engine, the amount of oil vapors is of such a small amount, the effect on the octane rating is virtually nonexistant. My high mileage car (310k miles) does NOT exhibit the "blow-by" which you claim "engines always create" and I drive on the aggressive side plus I drive well over 100MPH on a daily basis.
