Unless you get some info from the manufacturer saying it's ok for aluminum - don't risk it! The faq says it requires 300 degrees F to cure. Are you planning on putting your tranny in the wife's oven?

I suggest you use a good _aluminum_ primer (zinc chromate is best), followed by a regular engine enamel. You don't need the high heat rating of a manifold paint. Don't try to paint it with a brush!!! It will not work out well! Spray cans will work fine.

Remember, painting is 90% preparation. If the tranny case is not cleaned, etched, primed and painted correctly the coatings _will_ come off. Aluminum can be very tricky to coat, esp if it has corrosion. Research the correct techniques for painting aluminum. If you feel comfortable with your capabilities, go for it, and good luck.

BTW, any aircraft FBO can supply you with the proper etching chemicals and primer for aluminum. Just don't expect them to be inexpensive.
