1. You do not need mounting brackets. The hoses and the existing piping in front of the radiator will give you PLENTY of support. The intercooler WILL NOT be moving at all.
2. You will need to break the plastic pieces on both sides of the radiator. I used a dremmel tool to cut extra spaces.
3. Make sure to keep your existing turbo hoses etc. You will need it for a few reasons.
a. The delivery pipe to the intercooler pipe will be about 4 inches short. You will need to create a spacer line with the left over turbo pipe (silencer line).
b. I could not, for the life of me, get the 9-3 hose to make it from the intercooler to the 900 SET turbo exhaust line. There was simply no room. You can, ideally, use a heat gun to give the hose much needed flexibility. If that fails you can do what I did.
Being that I am the bas-tard son of Dr. Frankenstein, I cut the 9-3 hose and use a 6" metal line (from the turbo silencer line). Cut the 9-3 line in half and use the 6" tube to make a connection line thus increasing the length of the existing 9-3 hose.
4. You will need to do a coolant change. Be prepared for this. Total volume in there is >6.5L
5. I found it much easier to install the hoses in the intercooler, tighten them with the hose clamps and THEN try to connect it to the turbo.
6. I took pictures of most of the operation. If you would like an invitation to the intercooler installation photo album, send me an email with the email address you would like the invitation to go to.
If you have any questions, please send me a line or post in this thread.
