I installed mine this afternoon, and installed a mesh in the IC opening. Looks great!
Here's the problem -- I didn't have access to a heat gun or a hair dryer, so I went the old fashioned dish soap method. Worked GREAT, until I took it out for a test drive tonight...
I did some 25 mph constant speed driving until the engine was up to operating temp...then I took it out on the road... I started taking it slowly...so I didn't get a really good feel for it...
Then I got to 50 mph, dropped it in 4th, and figured I'd roll on test it and see where it boosted to and how it felt. I boosted to 18psi (higher than the 15.5psi it's supposed to fuel cut at), and blew the hose right off the inlet to the intercooler...thanks to my dish soap... (a little peeved)...
So tomorrow I plan to wipe the inlet clean, and use MUCH less dish soap to reattach (unless you have a better idea)... I'm hoping it won't be a big deal, but then again, I don't know how I'll hold the intercooler steady while I press the hose on...
more info when I have a succesful test run...
