OK, this is one of the most interesting encounters I've had so far...
Everything described takes place on a 3-lane main road with certain traffic lights at 1 am. Don't worry, I don't live in the U.S.

I was waiting in the left turn lane at a traffic light. As the light for opposing traffic became red, one of the cars stopped was a TT (225hp quattro as it turned out). I decided to be provocative, and made a massive handbrake U-turn ending up in the far right lane of the other direction. About 300 meters further down I was caught by a red light and the TT pulls up next to me.
While the guy was checking out my brakes (I have slotted rotors), the light turned green and I stepped on it to avoid getting creamed.
BTW I have a 9-3 with Abobott ECU@1.bar, Viggen I/C, K&N, Konis and Mintex pads.
I got a decent lead and 100meters later we came into a killer S-curve about 150m long in total and very tight for a three-lane road. I was in third gear at high rpms and starting to feel the car's limits when I see the TT in the mirror closing in on me; the guy passed on the *inside* quite faster than me I'm ashamed to say. I could see the TT's front and rear sequentially losing traction and the car always ending up on the correct path!

So after this turn there is a traffic light. It was red and I pulled up next to the TT. The road is slightly downhill there, so as I saw the pedestrian's light go red, I start inching forward to get a better start -it was fair IMHO, since he has 4WD .

Now HERE is the surprise: light turns green and I get a good start, he jumps forward, we finish first gear with me next to his front wheel. Shifting into second, I passed him!! We finished second with him almost next to me. Mid way into third we come upon traffic and a short open series of right and left curves. He manages to squeeze in between a car and a motorbike and gets ahead, but at the next light I made a wiser choice of lanes and got in front of him.

After this there was an abrupt left turn with very good pavement during which he was right behind me, but I managed to squeeze between two cars mid turn and change lane thus having open road in front of me. He caught up with me at the next light after which there is an excellent stretch of road with a long straightaway and wide curves. I weave through traffic and get ahead and he's behind me. Open road all the way.

Third gear full throttle and he can't catch up to me, but he's 1 meter behind me. Fourth gear same thing, we come into the wide next curve just under 200km/h (125mph). I don't consider myself crazy, so I backed off the gas and took the curve at about 170km/h with just a bit left. I swear the TT just continued full throttle. He flew right by me.
And now the hazards of this type of thing: Traffic light right after the curve -yellow... It's one of those terrifying situations wher you neither have time to pass it, nor enough space to brake. Anyway, I slammed the brakes, managed to get down to about 70km/h and passed under about half a second after it turned red. NO way I could have stopped, BAD judgement on my part...

The whole distance we covered is about 7 km (4 miles). I am quite satisfied with the cars performance; I did give the guy more than a run for his money!
