I would say around $1000 would get the job done
APC upgrade $350
RRFPR $250
K&N filtercharger $25-70
new wires $50-200
short shift kit $310
those upgrades should give you easily 200 HP & actually make the car easier to drive to :o) You will also want some sticky tires to allow the power to get to the ground. I am trying Yokohama PArada's (225 width) & it's allowing my slightly modded 88 SPG to hook up a TON better then with the POS 196-65-15's that were on there before. I haven't swapped my APC or RRFPR over yet but am sure the added tire width as well as sticky compund will greatly reduce my traction problems my 87 SPG has :o)
