the stock rev limit is totaly safe :-) Posted by jak [Email] (#195) [Profile/Gallery] (more from jak) on Thu, 31 Mar 2005 16:32:09 In Reply to: Hey Jak - Redline?, Kestrel, Thu, 31 Mar 2005 15:48:11 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I mean with a stock turbo you arent making much power at 6200RPM so its sort of wasteful to spinn it that hard but you could run it there all day & not worrie about it as long as it has oil & water in it :-)
frank stromqvist says the engine is totaly safe at 7Krpm but brad of georges imports feels the rod bolts may break at that RPM
none the less when I was running my T3/60 I kept the 6200RPM rev limit & used it as my shift indicator vrooommmmmmmm BAPBAP shift vroommmmmmmmm BAPBAP shift :-)
I think Ive had my engine up to 8KRPM a couple of times floated the crap out of the valves but dident bend any nor did I throw a rod
these are rediculously sturdy engines even at rediculously high milage
take care
