Hey Dean,
First, a quick correction, the pipe is made from polished aluminum, not stainless. So it should be a nice soft metal to cut.
For the couplers: The turbo outlet is 2", the alum pipe is 2.5", and the intercooler inlet is 2.35"
I've ordered all 4-Ply Aramid Silicone couplers, which is a nice compound to use because it will allow me to mount directly up to the turbo with no risk of melting or anything (up to 500 degrees F).
I'll be using one 2"-2.5" reducer, and one 2.5"-2.5" HUMP coupler. The hump coupler should give me plenty of flex to accommodate movement of the engine (and of course the turbo attached to it).
For clamps, I'll be using Stainless Steel T-Bolt clamps, as to avoid standard gear drive (or worm) clamps that risk digging into the silicone and causing a weak point.
I'm hoping this will all work out, and I think I'll be a very happy camper when all is said and done...
more thoughts are always welcome! :)
