If you already have a wider exhaust, you are already open enough for our type of engine. Unless you put some serious work into the engine itself to raise HP, removing the cat won't help you, and might hurt you, as you might lose some backpressure. I remember seeing a chart at the magnaflow website a while ago that showed how wide your exhaust should be for the amount of HP you have. I believe it said 2.5'' was perfect up to around 200-210hp.
And do you mean the tube connecting the airbox to the throttle body? Talliaferro sells an air intake that gets rid of the Plenum (the hard plastic thing on top of the TB)and replaces it with an elbow, along with a sports air filter for about $100.
If you're talking about the TBTC mod that all the Turbo guys do, I'm pretty sure we dont have a Transition elbow like they do. We have the plenum, so no worries :)
