I wasn't trying to crank it up to get a real high base boost, I was just trying to get 5 or 6 psi...
With APC solenoid plugged in, I was getting 5 psi or so. With it unplugged, I was getting only 3 psi. So, we cranked up the wastegate to its shortest position, to get like 5-6 psi base boost. So now, with apc plugged in, we are getting 7ish psi.
So APC is doing something, I just wonder if the WG isn't closing all the way, like you said.
Every part of the APC system has been replaced or triple-checked, sometimes both. Knock sensor, apc box, pressure trans, solenoid, etc etc etc. And it seems to be working, a little bit at least, since we get more-than-base boost with solenoid plugged in.
So we put a spring on for now, but it didn't do much. It just let us back off the adjustment to the wastegate rod, back to pretty much where it was.
Can the wastegate be replaced on its own? Or is it new turbo time?
Thanks guys
