newby just getting started

Every since the Internet started I've been seeing all those newby's and thinking "What idiots" and a little put-off since my last name actually is Newby.
Anyway, I have a really nice 1991 900T Convertible SE which I bought new for my wife, hence the Automatic. She stopped driving it and I finally got around to fixing some problems so we could sell it. Now I can't. I had forgot how much fun it is to drive and what good theropy a convertible is. I grew-up working on cars out of necessity, but not until now at the ripe old age of 52 did I get an itch for performance mods. I put in the Red Box mods just for laughs and I think I am hooked.
I just had it gone over by a good SAAB mechanic who declared it fit. I have a few cosmetic complaints but nothing needs fixed or replaced. The cat-back is less than 3 years old and the turbo has less than 30,000 miles on it. The stock suspension has the bronze sport chassis springs which already make it lower and much more agressive than any normal 900T. It handles great. Everything except the APC is stock and standard.
So. Here's my general question. Assuming that I'll eventually go to the BPU+ level, is there a correct order to do things?? And, where is the biggest bang for the buck? I was thinking about putting in a sports exhaust but the old cat-back is like new. It already handles and rides great, very much to my liking. Having an auto, I think the low RPM range is where I can really do some good. Advice?
