cracked super aero rim....options (long)?

i finally picked up a set of 4 new tires (bf goodrich, g-sport). this is the 1st year i am going with dedicated summer tires as i have the snows. i had the wheels mounted loose and then picked them up saturday and put them on the car (90 900); they have been in the basement for the past year. when i picked the wheels up from town fair tire, one was not fully inflated. the guy said it may be ok with another fill and to bring it back if there was any problem.
so, on the car, the tire goes flat. i pump it up 4 times this weekend to make it through to today to take it back. i go back to the shop to have them correct the problem and the guy comes out and says the tires is not leaking, the wheel is. i went back and saw the bubbles in the tank coming from the shoulder on the inside of the rim. a crack about 3" long. i am completely baffled as to how this happened. last time i had the rims on the car, there were no issues. now, when i get them back from the shop, they are cracked. i don't think i have a leg to stand on since i gave them loose wheels.
i was also told that this can not be repaired. is this true? i find it hard to believe i will be able to find a single super aero rim....
just my luck, new tranny, and now this....
