Salutations:

Depending on your set-up the fuel/ignition should cut off when you reach about 15psi in the manifold (stock). What will happen is the engine will cut out - then pretty much immediatly resume normal operation when the pressure drops.

Stay off the turbo until things cool down again, it will 'adapt' the timing somewhat when this happens and you may throw a 7 flash CEL later on when you idle it for a bit. Pull the battery leads overnight (making sure you have radio codes) and it will reset overnight. There is usually nothing wrong other than the engine cut out on overboost. If it keeps throwing adaption CEL's - look more closely at your vac lines and 02 sensors as your MBC+A may now stress stuff that was a little dodgey under the hood.

Anyway, I'm not sure if this is a 'knock' being read or simply an overpressure cutout routine - but I think to 15psi - it's a pressure cut out unless something else is wrong.

In either case, you need to dial back your MBC+A a bit so it doesn't happen regularly and you should do that when the intercooler and engine are as hot as they normally get. This will set your maximum pressure in your most demanding conditions. It will have lower boost than possible when things are cooler - but it will protect the system from overboost at the most dangerous times.

I'm trying to work up a repair for the stock BPC valve and have been hoping to mooch some dead ones for testing. I can paypal shipping expenses to my bench if you are willing to let your dead one go. It would be greatly helpful if you could as the local supply here is zero (everyone throws them out and there aren't a lot of FPT Trionic SAAB to begin with).
