i have heard of that option but hadn't explored it. it is probably a cost effective way to go. did you by any chance measure the trans. oil temp. before and after? i am looking to get as much cooling as possible. call it desperation, but as i crank up the HP, and read about the various trans failures, something is telling me that trans temps may have more to do with it than it might seem. i am sure that there are other issues as many have identified, but i have not seen or heard of any well documented before/after trans cooling projects or results.
where i am right now is adding a tilton electric oil pump, filter, braided lines, and the largest plate type exchanger i can fit. maybe around a 6" H x 15-17" wide x 1-2" Deep. I don't know. might even flirt with some home-made ducting to make sure air get rushed through the fins.
I alkso want to use a temp sender and a switch so i can monitor both engine oil and trans oil with one gauge, but i am focusing on the major equipment at this point.
thanks for the info
