i have a custom 3-3.5 downpipe from the turbo to the cat, then 3" cat back.
i picked up a downpipe with an external wastegate, but the flange on the bottom end bolts to the stock 2.5" intermediate pipe to the cat.
i have two options as i see it:
1. leave it as is and wait until i can get someone to weld up the 3" to the ext wg downpipe.
2. swap out the 3-3.5" turbo to cat pipe and install the external wastegate and stock intermediate pipe to the cat.
i know i will lose some by dropping to the stock size pipe, but will the external wastegate offset and even over compensate for the difference?
i will eventually go to the 3" with the ext wastegate, but not sure which is best for the time being.
any thoughts?
btw, 90 900turbo, programmable ecu.
thanks.
