Actually CIS does have a fuel pressure regulator, it's just not a separate item like in electronic systems.
Any decent service manual that covers the CIS should show where the regulator is (called a "line pressure regulator") - it's screwed into the side of the fuel distributor. You can unscrew it, and there's a spring which usually has a few shims underneath it. If you add or swap in a washer to increase the height of the shim stack maybe .050", it will give a nice increase. You'll have to readjust the mixture after doing this.
Be aware that increasing the FP *may* not fix your problem. Unlike most systems, in CIS the injected fuel quantity is not proportional to fuel pressure. However, the quantity can drop once the manifold pressure goes above a certain amount, if this is the problem then increasing the FP will help.
