i have had a wolf ems installed since 00-01 timeframe on my c900. i drive every day. last dyno run was back in 01 or so and i pulled 213 whp at 13 psi with pretty close to the stock timing map loaded in. since then, i have corrected a few fueling issues (too rich) and tweaked timing more aggressively. i also don't run a knock sensor and believe it is not needed.

to get the most gains, you need to get away from the stock timing. for what i spent on bolt on fixes, i could have purchased the wolf system ($1200 at the time and it uses all stock saab component to drive it). i pulled the stock ecu wiring out one friday evening and rewired and had the car on the road for work the following monday. it was long weekend, but i learned a lot and have an even greater appreciation for the car. once you get into it, and work with it enough, you can tell when the car is too rich or lean just by the feel of how it runs. pretty crazy actually...

anyway, i'm biased as well, but am very pleased with the direction i took.
