I think the cfm for the stock 900 model IC is dismal at about 125 cfm. The 9000 IC is supposedly much better, but don't know the actual cfm, maybe 300 cfm as a guess? Supposedly, one should shoot for 500cfm if going with modifications to make 250HP 275 torq. Flow is a big consideration, as well as actual cooling capabilities too. You can make the mistake and get a high cooling FMIC and yet have it flow poorly, thus robbing your engine of power and reducing efficiency! I have read and heard that the 9000 IC is a decent cooling model but flows poorly, like a radiator. Of course, the 9000 IC is a cheap upgrade though... I went with a high flow, 500cfm bar and plate design FMIC off ebay from a decent company, seems to work well... I think JAK recommends the early '90s Talon IC as a replacement, or the 1990 Eclipse, which is I guess the same basic car?
