Kurt,
Hope all's well!
There would actually be a substantial benefit in modifying the Aero cylinder head and with the upgrades already rendered, you might see a 20-25 BHP provision to the 2.3 liter turbocharged engine. We have a local 1994 9000 Aero that picked up 31 horsepower through a modified cylinder head so the advantages are certainly not only beneficial for the NA engine applications.
The intake ports should be only mildly modified or left intact but a slight reduction of short turn radius (sharp turn directly under valve seat) would help with a more direct movement of air/fuel. Back-cutting the intake valves and providing a multi-angle valve seat would provide the most substantial flow benefits.
Exhaust valves could be replaced for the later 5mm valve stem (you now have the 7mm so you would need to install the 5mm guides and valves. Seats will be the same) and a minor back-cut could provide more flow past this valve. relieving the exhaust port would be beneficial and the bowl, short turn radius and valve seat can be modified to allow for a fast paced exhaust velocity. All of these exhaust valve/port modifications will provide substantial improvement to turbocharger response (spool).
Best of luck and regards,
Gary K at SWEDISH DYNAMICS,INC.
