Thanks for the warning but I actually haven't had that problem at all with corruption. My programming unit is pretty old but works well--after I put together a real genuine DOS computer to run it-- a Win95/PII machine for $36.00.

I damaged my original ECU (don't ask how) so I've actually been driving around with a plugged Viggen brain and files I wrote onto a blank chip without any problems. If you were seeing offsets you could run a higher level algo that considers address as well as values and just do the whole chip to verify integrity. New chips make a difference too.

Although through the bus is the way to go no doubt...
