180 is the cooler option, standard is 195 degree. I run the 180 with a nice mid-range temperature, warming up quickly but never overheating. I think most folks overfill their radiator in an attempt to fill the overflow tube, and therefore experience leakage! Remember that it is an OVERFLOW tube as the water expands when it gets hot. If you are using 180 degree and still overheating, look for a kink in your lower radiator hose.
As for the filler cap, apparently there were several different depths of caps used, depending on which overflow tube you got. Proper depth is as important as pressure rating. I cant remember what depth mine was and I have never been able to find an original, but I use a Stant (number unknown).
