Well, after many years of lurking on these boards reading about all of your adventures Sonett I am finally getting close to officially owning one.

My father is the original owner of a 1970 Sonett whch was his daily driver until the late 80's. I ahve wanted this car for a long time and now he is finally ready to give it up. The car has been sitting in his garage since the about 1991. It hasn't run since then (I was living 3,000 miles away) so it now needs to be restored.

The engine needs to be rebuilt, the transmisson used to jump out of first gear but the freewheel was working. Chasis has the typical rust issues.

So, how much does it typically cost to bring one of these back to life?

Is it easier to fix the chasis or find a less rusty one?
