I came back at it again late Saturday after wrestling all day with a different Sonett with a 2 BBL carb problem. My primary car blew a timing belt and has valve damage so right now it's Sonett or walk. After no luck on the carb, I grabbed the hammer for another whack, and on the second hit, it dropped into neutral. I sat stunned for a minute! So the new rule is DON'T USE FIRST. The city is flat, so starting in second works out fine. I'm mobile again so now I can get back to a head rebuild then go through that 2 BBL. When those 2 cars are up, I can pull that trans for a closer look.
